Undergraduates can pursue an interdisciplinary co-major or minor in European Studies. The co-major gives students a solid foundation in the cultures, politics, languages and history of Europe in preparation for graduate studies and/or careers in a wide variety of international fields. The minor introduces students to the field of European Studies while ensuring that they acquire proficiency in a modern European language.
The Undergraduate Program in European Studies provides our students with personalized advising, interdisciplinary flexibility, exciting course offerings, opportunities to conduct research, frequent co-curricular activities, and many options for studying and completing internships abroad. Studying with KU faculty in the broader disciplines such as social sciences, humanities, the arts, and business, will enable students to increase their awareness and understanding of Europe’s past, present, and future and its significant role in our increasingly globalized world.
Interested students should meet with Dr. Lorie A. Vanchena, Academic Director of European Studies; please contact her at firstname.lastname@example.org. Laura Leonard, CLAS-SAS Advising Specialist, handles academic advising for the European Studies Program (email@example.com).
